REAL TALK⠀ ⠀ I'd like to take a quick minute to thank everyone for their support of all of the new pieces in my collections. I've been working in a really loose style for awhile that never truly felt like mine but rather felt like something I should be doing because it's watercolor and I should let the water do what it wants. But you know what, I don't want to let the water do it what it wants and I'm not ok with the colors bleeding into each other. I want to control everything that paint does and I want layers of color built on top of each other with details painted with the tiniest brush you've ever seen. I need to start with a pencil sketch and I can't handle it when I don't...the composition goes off the rails, the proportions are never what I want and I end up frustrated.⠀ ⠀ But the newest prints in my collections are all done the way I want. Super controlled, tiny details all worked out in pencil first and the last step is the thinnest black ink outline you've ever seen. And it makes me happy. I can't wait to paint everyday in a way that I haven't felt in a long time.
